The fourth, final, and most extensive volume of our GIALLO MOVIE POSTERS series covers the years 1975 to 2022, spanning almost five decades, while some of the earlier volumes focus on films released within just a few years. The reason for this lies in the evolution of the genre itself. Not only did the number of productions decline significantly over the decades, but many films from the VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray eras either never received a theatrical release at all or were shown only on a very limited scale.
Even so, this vast period offers more than enough important films and fascinating poster artwork, including classics such as Dario Argento’s Tenebrae, Opera, and Phenomena, as well as Lucio Fulci’s The New York Ripper. And, as always, there are plenty of obscurities and curiosities waiting to be discovered. This volume also includes a special bonus chapter dedicated to a closely related genre: the home-invasion film.
